Small Rules, Big Impact

Race Control got a handful of quiet adjustments in the Season 4 build. They don’t change the rulebook, but they will change how races feel, especially in the opening laps and during cautions. Here’s what’s new.

Pit-Lane Starts: +3s Hold

Drivers choosing (or forced) to start from pit road will now sit a little longer:

Old delay: cars were held briefly, then released into traffic once the green flew.

New delay: the hold has been increased by three seconds.

Why it matters:

Gives the field more time to clear before pit-lane starters join.

Reduces the risk of messy blend-ins mid-pack.

Makes the “start from pits” strategy safer but slightly costlier in track position.

Pace Car: Smarter Timing

Two timing adjustments were made to how the pace car enters the track:

Pit exit speeds improved — the pace car leaves pit lane at more realistic acceleration, syncing better with field speed.

Earlier pull-outs for early-lap cautions — if a yellow comes quickly, the pace car now exits sooner, reducing awkward waiting and accordion effects.

Result: restarts and cautions should feel smoother, with fewer stutters as the field forms up.

The “!remove” Command Clarified

Admins and race hosts now have a clearer tool for removing drivers:

!remove …
will now only remove a single person, preventing accidental wipes of multiple drivers.

You can also use
!remove #N
with a full car number.

If that number has a single declared driver, that one driver will be removed cleanly.

This closes loopholes where the old syntax could cause confusion or unintended removals.

Why It Matters

These tweaks don’t make headlines, but you’ll feel them in day-to-day racing:

Starts from pits are safer but a little pricier in time.

Cautions get smoother, with less herky-jerky pacing.

Admins have a sharper, more predictable tool for managing grids.
