Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve (Montreal) in iRacing

Official Release article for Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve (Montreal) in iRacing.

The Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve in Montreal officially joins iRacing on November 2, 2011, as part of the Season 4 build. Famous for hosting the Canadian Grand Prix since 1978, this temporary street circuit on Île Notre-Dame is one of Formula One’s most recognizable venues.

The iRacing release brings every detail of the island-based layout into the sim, from the long straights to the infamous “Wall of Champions.” Its arrival adds a high-speed, technically demanding Formula One circuit to iRacing’s road course roster, instantly becoming a favorite for both open-wheel and GT competitors.

What makes Montreal unique in iRacing

  • Street circuit hybrid: A temporary venue with permanent curbs and character.
  • High-speed balance: Combines long straights with chicanes that demand precision.
  • Wall of Champions: The iconic Turn 14 exit punishes even the smallest mistakes.
  • Slipstream central: Drafting battles dominate in both open-wheel and GT cars.
  • Canadian motorsport heritage: A track that reflects the passion of Montreal’s F1 fans.

Montreal’s release in iRacing brings another world-class Formula One circuit into the sim, capturing the thrill and danger of a track that has defined decades of racing history.
