Porsche Mission R Official Release

The Porsche Mission R electric prototype arrives in iRacing.

The Porsche Mission R joined iRacing in the 2022 Season 1 build, released on December 7, 2021. As Porsche’s cutting-edge all-electric GT racing prototype, the Mission R brought instant torque, futuristic aerodynamics, and advanced energy systems to the sim, offering drivers a glimpse into what the future of motorsport could look like.

Equipped with dual electric motors, the Mission R produces more than 600 kW of power—roughly 800 horsepower in qualifying mode. Combined with Porsche’s sophisticated aero package, regenerative braking system, and lightweight carbon chassis, the car delivers a unique and exhilarating driving experience unlike anything else in the iRacing garage.

The arrival of the Mission R in iRacing wasn’t just about adding another car—it was a statement. Porsche’s inclusion of the car coincided with the brand’s expanding esports initiatives, showcasing their commitment to both sustainability and competitive virtual racing. For iRacers, it provided an early chance to explore the challenges and excitement of managing high-performance electric race cars.

The Mission R remains one of the most futuristic vehicles in iRacing, blending incredible performance with next-generation technology, and pushing sim racers to adapt their driving styles for the electric era.
