The Circuit Zandvoort first makes its debut in iRacing on August 29, 2012, joining the service as part of the Season 4 build. Located along the Dutch coast in the sand dunes near Amsterdam, Zandvoort is a historic circuit best known for hosting the Formula One Dutch Grand Prix from 1952 to 1985 and again from 2021 onward.
In 2023, iRacing updates Zandvoort with a brand-new laser scan and rebuild, aligning the sim version with the modernized Formula One venue. The refreshed release introduces multiple configurations, new curbing, and the steeply banked corners that make the track a modern icon.
What makes Zandvoort unique in iRacing
- Historic and modern blend: Originally a 1948 design, the circuit is reimagined in 2020 for F1’s return.
- Banked corners: Arie Luyendykbocht and Hugenholtzbocht feature dramatic banking rarely seen on road courses.
- Sand dune location: The circuit’s natural elevation and scenery create a flowing, scenic racing environment.
- Multiple configs: Grand Prix, National, Oostelijk, and Chicane layouts add variety.
- F1 pedigree: An essential track for open-wheel and GT racers alike.
The iRacing version of Zandvoort evolves just as the real track does, ensuring members can experience both its heritage and its cutting-edge redesign.
