Adelaide Street Circuit Well Underway for 2026 Content

Work on the iRacing Adelaide Street Circuit is moving quickly.
The fan-favorite Australian venue was fully scanned in late 2024 and has been in production through 2025.
Recent developer updates confirm the project is well underway, with release timing pointing to sometime in 2026.

Adelaide is one of the most requested tracks in iRacing’s history.
Its combination of technical chicanes, long straights, and city scenery make it a perfect fit for the sim’s growing street circuit lineup.

From Scan to Simulation

The journey began in August 2024, when iRacing confirmed plans to scan the Adelaide Street Circuit.
By November, scanning crews finished collecting detailed laser data across the full Grand Prix and Supercars layouts.
The trip captured thousands of photos and hundreds of millions of scan points.

In a February 2025 blog, developers said:

“Our scan of Adelaide went well. The team successfully navigated the public roads and came home with massive amounts of data.”

Since then, the art and track teams have focused on building textures, barriers, and scenery.
Progress updates show new lighting effects and detailed parkland surroundings — signs the track is moving toward completion.

A Historic Venue for iRacing

Adelaide has been part of Australian motorsport since the 1980s.
It hosted the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix from 1985 to 1995 and is now home to the Adelaide 500 Supercars event.
The track’s mix of tight corners and high-speed straights produces some of the most exciting racing in the world.

Adding the iRacing Adelaide Street Circuit strengthens the sim’s presence in Australia, joining Bathurst and Winton Raceway.
It also continues iRacing’s global expansion into real-world street racing alongside Chicago, Long Beach, and Miami.

Track Layouts and Key Features

While not yet confirmed, the release will likely include two versions:

  • Grand Prix layout (3.78 km / 2.35 mi) — the full version used by Formula 1.
  • Supercars layout — the current format used for the Adelaide 500.

The circuit will feature detailed urban scenery, including grandstands, parkland, and the famous Victoria Park chicanes.
Developers have also mentioned updated lighting, better reflections, and improved crowd animations.
Expect the iRacing Adelaide Street Circuit to showcase the newest visual and performance upgrades available in the engine.

Expected Release Timing

All signs point to a mid-2026 release.
Developers have confirmed Adelaide will not be ready for the December 2025 Season 1 build, but it’s making steady progress.
If work continues on schedule, the track could headline either the 2026 Season 2 (March) or Season 3 (June) update.

With the amount of polish seen in recent street tracks, iRacing appears to be taking the time to get Adelaide perfect before launch.

Expanding the Street Circuit Lineup

Adelaide is part of iRacing’s growing focus on international city tracks.
Other confirmed or rumored venues include:

  • Miami International Autodrome – arriving December 2025.
  • San Diego Naval Base Circuit – designed for NASCAR’s 2026 race.
  • St. Petersburg Street Circuit – scanned earlier this year.
  • Detroit – under discussion for IndyCar and IMSA content.

When Adelaide joins that list, iRacing will offer one of the most complete street racing catalogs in sim racing.

Why Fans Are Excited

For Australian fans, this release means more than just a new track.
The iRacing Adelaide Street Circuit connects decades of history — from classic Formula 1 finishes to modern Supercars showdowns.
Its fast, flowing layout rewards precision, and its parkland setting delivers one of the most scenic backdrops in motorsport.

Once released, Adelaide will instantly become a favorite for league racing and time trials around the world.
