After teasing a new open-wheel entry earlier this year, iRacing has confirmed that the Dallara IL-15, the chassis of choice for the INDY NXT series, will debut in the sim with the 2025 Season 4 build.
Powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four engine delivering 450 horsepower, the IL-15 represents a perfect middle ground in iRacing’s open-wheel ladder: fast, nimble, and loaded with modern technology, but more approachable than top-tier INDYCAR machinery.
Key highlights include:
- Full carbon-fiber chassis with integrated Halo device
- Push-to-Pass system adding an extra 50hp on demand
- Paddle-operated 6-speed sequential gearbox
- Tuned for both road courses and ovals, with Road and Oval Fixed series launching in Season 4
As iRacing notes, this car provides “an excellent option for racers seeking a high-performance yet approachable open-wheel series.” For INDYCAR hopefuls or fans looking to sharpen their oval and road skills, the IL-15 is shaping up to be one of the most exciting new cars of the year.
