Rallycross Charlotte in iRacing

Official Release article for Rallycross Charlotte in iRacing.

The Rallycross Charlotte layout was added to iRacing as part of its growing Dirt Road discipline, turning the infield of Charlotte Motor Speedway into a purpose-built rallycross course. This compact, mixed-surface layout gives iRacers a chance to experience short-format, action-packed sprint racing inside one of NASCAR’s most iconic venues.

Its release introduced another U.S.-based rallycross venue to the sim, complete with dirt sections, asphalt straights, a Joker Lap, and a signature jump. The layout quickly became a staple of the iRacing Rallycross series, offering fast and furious races in a highly visible, fan-friendly stadium setting.

What makes Rallycross Charlotte unique in iRacing

  • Infield design: Utilizes the Charlotte Motor Speedway infield with a compact hybrid layout.
  • Mixed surfaces: Asphalt grip and dirt slides force constant adaptation.
  • Jump feature: The track’s defining rallycross jump keeps cars airborne and unsettled.
  • Joker Lap strategy: A longer alternate route changes the course of short races.
  • Spectacle inside a NASCAR stadium: Fans can see nearly the entire lap from grandstands or broadcast angles.

The Rallycross Charlotte layout brought more variety to iRacing’s rallycross calendar, showcasing American rallycross culture at a marquee racing venue.
