On December 6, 2021, iRacing officially re-releases Watkins Glen International as part of the 2022 Season 1 build. Already one of the most popular tracks in the sim, the Glen receives a complete overhaul with a fresh laser scan from 2021, updated artwork, and modern graphics.
The new version replaces the legacy build entirely, with all existing owners upgraded at no additional cost. Featuring four distinct layouts, the rebuild ensures Watkins Glen remains accurate for NASCAR, IMSA, endurance, and grassroots road racing.
What makes Watkins Glen unique in iRacing
- Four layouts: Cup, Boot, Classic Boot, and Classic all included.
- High-speed flow: The Esses and backstretch are flat-out in most cars.
- The Bus Stop: A technical braking zone that creates overtaking opportunities.
- Boot section: Adds elevation changes and technical challenges to the lap.
- Multi-series relevance: Used in NASCAR, IMSA, FIA endurance, and club racing.
The updated Watkins Glen cements its role as one of iRacing’s cornerstone road courses—fast, technical, and universally loved.
