Improvements made to UI, simulation, and BOP in latest iRacing patch

The 2023 Season 1 Release for iRacing has received a variety of updates and fixes in this patch.

Starting with the iRacing UI, the profile feature has been fixed to no longer show the Member Club icon twice in the modal. Hosted Racing events now display information about practice, qualifying, and race sessions in a condensed format, showing the length or duration of each session. The date picker for AI Racing events has also been fixed to allow for tracks to be chosen outside of the months of April to June. A new column of data, “Field Size,” has been added to the Series Results List.

In the simulation, Jump Start and Pace Speed Black Flag penalties for Rolling Starts have been changed to Drive-Through Penalties, and the detection rules for Jump Start Black Flags within Start Zones have been adjusted to reduce false flags. AI Drivers have also improved their racing abilities with the GT3 Class Cars and the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992). A grammar error in the Options feature has also been fixed.

Several cars have received updates in this patch as well. The GT3 Class Cars have had reduced stiffness and friction on front rub blocks for the New Damage Model, allowing for less extreme behavior on curb strikes. The Audi R8 LMS GT3, BMW M4 GT3, Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo 2020, Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO, McLaren MP4-12C GT3, Mercedes-AMG GT3 2020, Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992), and Porsche 911 GT3 R have all received 2023 Season 1 Balance of Performance (BoP) adjustments, including changes to vehicle mass and fuel efficiency. The Dallara IR18, Dallara P217, Global Mazda MX-5 Cup, and Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992) have also received updates for improved realism, including tire and suspension changes and aerodynamic adjustments. The Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO and Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992) have also had issues with scrape damage and cockpit side window panels fixed. The [Legacy] Dallara DW12, Dallara – 2009, and Pro Mazda have had some branding adjustments.

Several tracks have also been updated in this patch. The Centripetal Circuit’s pit lane wall has been fixed to no longer cause issues with pit lane speed limits, and its skyboxes have been updated. The Daytona International Speedway has had its pit lane wall fixed and its skyboxes updated. The Suzuka Circuit’s pit lane wall has also been fixed. Finally, the Virginia International Raceway has had an issue with its skyboxes fixed.

Overall, the 2023 Season 1 Release for iRacing has received a variety of updates and fixes in this patch. These include UI fixes and improvements, simulation updates, car and track adjustments, and BoP changes. These updates aim to improve the overall racing experience for players and enhance the realism of the simulation.
