Brands Hatch offers two primary configurations in iRacing:
Indy Circuit (1.944 km / 1.208 miles)
The compact version of the track is fast, technical, and perfect for sprint races. With only a handful of corners, it emphasizes momentum and rewards aggression.
- Best for: Lower-powered cars (Mazda MX-5, Skip Barber, touring cars).
- Race traits: Close pack racing, heavy lapping traffic in larger grids, and nonstop action.
Grand Prix Circuit (3.916 km / 2.433 miles)
The full layout expands into the countryside, adding sweeping, high-speed corners like Hawthorns, Sheene, and Stirlings. It is one of the most challenging and rewarding circuits in Europe.
- Best for: GT3, Formula 3, and endurance racing.
- Race traits: Strategic racing with fewer overtaking spots, relying heavily on pressure and consistency.
Shared Characteristics
- Elevation drama: Both layouts use the natural geography to create blind entries and challenging braking zones.
- Narrow surface: Track width is limited compared to modern circuits, magnifying the difficulty of overtaking.
- Old-school challenge: Minimal run-off areas keep mistakes costly.
Brands Hatch’s dual personality—short and brutal versus long and flowing—makes it one of the most versatile and entertaining circuits in iRacing.
