What Garage 61 Is
Garage 61 is a web-based platform designed for organized iRacing endurance events. It handles driver swaps, stint planning, fuel calculations, and team communication in one interface. Many league and hosted endurance races use it as their primary race control tool.
The platform runs outside of iRacing and connects through the shared telemetry API. Teams join a session using a setup code, and Garage 61 aggregates their lap data throughout the race.
What Live Timing Adds
The live timing feature gives a real-time view of every car’s position, gap, and lap time during a race. Before this update, Garage 61 users had to open a separate broadcast overlay or iRacing’s native timing screen to see the full running order. Now live timing is built directly into the Garage 61 interface.
For endurance teams, this means crew chiefs can check where their car sits relative to class competitors without interrupting the driver. The timing feed updates automatically and includes sector splits alongside overall position.
How to Use It
Live timing is available in the Garage 61 web interface for active sessions at garage61.net. Once a race is running, the timing screen populates automatically with all entries in the session.
No additional setup is needed beyond what Garage 61 already requires for driver swaps. If your team already uses the platform for endurance races, live timing is available by default.
It is a small addition that removes a common annoyance for endurance crews who were already running Garage 61 but keeping a separate timing source open alongside it.
