iRacing and DTM have announced the iRacing DTM Series, a brand-new official series for 2026 aligned directly with the real-world DTM calendar. Notably, the series kicks off on April 23 at the Red Bull Ring and runs eight rounds through October, with each event scheduled mid-week before its corresponding real-world DTM race.
Since DTM moved to GT3 regulations in 2021, the championship has grown significantly, pulling in a wider field and mixing top young talent with established names from global motorsport. As a result, the iRacing DTM Series uses the same GT3 cars competing in the 2026 real-world season, giving sim racers a direct parallel to what happens on track each weekend.
In addition, the race format mirrors the spirit of DTM: a 55-minute timed race with a limited fuel tank, which means pit stop strategy is a real factor. Races run on Thursday evenings with globally accessible 8PM start times in AEDT, CET, ET, and PT, making them available for the worldwide iRacing community.
