Ferrari 296 Challenge Official Release

The Ferrari 296 Challenge makes its debut in iRacing’s single-make Challenge series.

NEW CAR ALERT! The Ferrari 296 Challenge made its iRacing debut in the 2024 Season 4 build, released on September 10, 2024. This addition marked the virtual introduction of Ferrari’s newest one-make race car, built to succeed the long-serving 488 Challenge Evo.

Developed from the Ferrari 296 GTB platform, the Challenge car brings Ferrari’s latest mid-engine engineering to grassroots competition. Power comes from a twin-turbocharged V6 engine tuned for racing, paired with a sequential gearbox, advanced aerodynamics, and a fully stripped-down interior. The car is purpose-built for Ferrari’s official Challenge series, both in the real world and in esports.

For iRacing members, the 296 Challenge arrives fully integrated into road competition, including its own official Ferrari Challenge esports events. The release ensures drivers can experience the next generation of Ferrari’s customer racing ladder while enjoying tight, one-make racing that emphasizes driver skill and consistency over balance-of-performance adjustments.

With the Ferrari 296 Challenge, iRacing players gain access to a cutting-edge platform that blends speed, technology, and tradition—further strengthening Ferrari’s presence in the sim.
