The iRacing Adelaide Street Circuit is one step closer to release. During a recent trip to Australia, iRacing’s scanning team completed a full laser capture of the iconic downtown course. Developers confirm that the crew collected hundreds of millions of data points across the entire 3.2 km layout, including elevation, curb detail, and building geometry.
This marks a major milestone for the project, which was officially announced earlier in the year. The raw data now moves to iRacing’s art and track-building teams for processing and environment creation.

Inside the Scanning Process
The team used high-resolution LiDAR scanners mounted on both vehicles and drones. This allowed them to capture road textures, manholes, painted lines, and even tree placement along Victoria Park. According to the update, scanning was completed over several early-morning sessions to avoid city traffic and changing shadows.
In addition, iRacing staff recorded ambient sound samples and thousands of reference photos. Those details will help recreate Adelaide’s distinctive atmosphere once the circuit enters the art pass stage.
Why This Scan Matters
Finishing the scan keeps the iRacing Adelaide Street Circuit on schedule for a 2025 release. It also confirms that the studio continues its push to expand international and Supercars content. Because Adelaide is a temporary street course, capturing it required coordination with local officials before public roads reopened.
The level of accuracy achieved here should make Adelaide one of the most authentic city circuits ever built in iRacing. As a result, players can expect every bump, curb, and barrier to match the real track used by the Supercars Championship.
Community Response
Australian members celebrate the news across social media, calling the scan “a huge win for local motorsport.” Supercars fans say the addition completes the Australian circuit lineup, joining Bathurst, Sandown, and Phillip Island. Others praise iRacing’s dedication to capturing regional venues rather than relying solely on international Formula 1 locations.
What Comes Next
Now that scanning is finished, the next phase involves building the digital model and applying textures. Developers note that the first test versions should appear internally early in 2025. If everything stays on track, the iRacing Adelaide Street Circuit could arrive by mid-year or as part of the December 2025 build.
