The Mercedes-AMG Motorsport Virtual Championship is back on iRacing for 2026. The championship spans six events across 10 rounds, running from August through October. Time Attack qualifying at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps is already open, and you have until July 19 to set your fastest lap in the Mercedes-AMG GT3 2020.

Qualification runs through iRacing’s Time Attack mode at Spa. The 36 fastest drivers earn Division 1 spots, while a separate group of 36 raffle winners fills Division 2. Because the base iRacing subscription includes the Mercedes-AMG GT3 2020, there is no additional car purchase required to enter.
Spa rewards a specific approach in the GT3 class. Raidillon is flat for most GT3 drivers. However, entry timing and track position through Eau Rouge determine how much speed carries onto the Kemmel Straight. The Bus Stop chicane punishes late braking more than almost anywhere else on the circuit. Rolling in with correct speed is essential for a clean middle sector, since that is where Division 1 lap times are typically built.
Because Time Attack mode allows multiple attempts, running a few shakedown laps before committing your banker time is worth doing. Consistency across attempts produces a stronger qualifying result than chasing a single heroic lap. Small mistakes at Raidillon or the Bus Stop compound quickly over the course of a lap.
The 2026 Mercedes-AMG Motorsport Virtual Championship schedule is as follows:

Race formats vary by event. Spa and Road Atlanta each run a single 45-minute race with a mandatory pit stop. The other four venues host two 20-minute sprint races each, which is how six events produce 10 rounds in total. All sessions run on a fixed setup, so driver skill and racecraft determine results more than setup knowledge.
After the third event, the field is reshuffled. The bottom three finishers in Division 1 face relegation to Division 2. The top performers from Division 2 earn promotion in return, and a new group of raffle winners joins Division 2 to fill the vacated spots. That mid-season reset keeps the championship competitive through the full October run. It also gives Division 2 drivers a realistic path into the top tier. Strong results across the first three events are enough to earn a promotion slot, regardless of how you originally qualified into the championship.
Top finishers are in line for a Mercedes-AMG Motorsport GT Sport Experience, a Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team Trackside Experience, and a Mercedes-AMG Motorsport Gaming Hardware Upgrade. The GT Sport Experience and the F1 Trackside Experience are the headline rewards. They give Division 1’s best drivers direct access to the real-world Mercedes-AMG program outside of iRacing.
The Mercedes-AMG Motorsport Virtual Championship has run in previous iRacing seasons and is one of the manufacturer-backed esports programs with real-world prize experiences attached. For drivers who qualify into Division 1 and post strong results through October, it is a genuine route into the wider Mercedes-AMG motorsport program.
To enter, open iRacing and select the Time Attack session at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in the Mercedes-AMG GT3 2020. The qualifying window closes on July 19. Division assignments are finalized after that, with Round 1 at Spa scheduled for August 5. If you have not used Time Attack mode before, it works the same as a standard practice session.
