The UK’s sim racing community has something concrete to look forward to. Organizers have officially confirmed Sim Global Expo 2027 at the NEC Birmingham for January 16th and 17th, 2027. It will be the UK’s first dedicated sim racing exhibition. Meanwhile, UK iRacers who have watched SimRacing Expo Frankfurt from afar finally have a local equivalent.

Sim racing events in the UK have historically been thin. Community meetups, small club days, the occasional sim rig tucked into a corner at a general gaming convention. The organizers built Sim Global Expo entirely around sim racing. As a result, every part of the show floor serves people who actually care about it. Additionally, a dedicated show floor means each visitor gets real time with the hardware. That is a fundamentally different kind of event.
What’s Confirmed for the Show
Attendees will be able to try the latest hardware hands-on, shop directly with exhibitors, and catch live stage demonstrations. The organizers have also confirmed exclusive product launches and unannounced special guests and creators at the show. Furthermore, those additions are what separate an expo worth attending from one worth just reading about.
Eight exhibitors have already signed on: Abruzzi, Conspit, Overengineered Sim Racing Co, Pro Simrig, Race Anywhere, Racing Sims, Vesaro, and V-RIG. Expect more to join as January approaches. The lineup is strong for a debut show, because the range covers entry-level cockpit frames to high-end motion rigs. For example, Abruzzi and Race Anywhere cover different ends of the market. Pro Simrig and Vesaro bring premium builds that most sim racers only see in videos. For buyers, being able to compare options side by side is a significant advantage.
Why UK iRacers Should Make the Trip
For iRacers, the practical case for attending comes down to hardware. Sim racing hardware is expensive. Consequently, buying a rig, wheel, or pedal set based on spec sheets and video reviews alone is a gamble. However, UK iRacers have not had a local venue to try this hardware in person before buying. Sim Global Expo changes that. Trying a rig in person before committing removes a lot of the uncertainty.
Tickets, Pricing, and the Venue
Tickets go on general sale on August 28th through the Sim Global Expo website. Additionally, early access pricing is available now. Sign up to the pre-sale mailing list, since discounts run until November 30th. Adult day tickets are £25 early access and £35 at general sale. Adult weekend passes are £45 early access and £60 at general sale. Family day passes start at £70 early access. Under-6s attend free.
The NEC Birmingham is well-connected from most parts of the UK. It sits beside Birmingham Airport, with direct rail links to Birmingham New Street. The M6 and M42 motorways also put it within easy reach for drivers. Furthermore, the NEC has hosted some of the UK’s largest consumer events, including EGX. That gives Sim Global Expo both the space and the infrastructure to grow from day one. While most gaming events draw UK iRacers south, Birmingham is a more central option. Scotland, northern England, and Wales are all an easier trip from Birmingham than from London.
There is no confirmed iRacing exhibitor presence in the lineup yet. However, sim platform partnerships tend to follow once an event’s momentum builds. Events like SimRacing Expo Charlotte have featured iRacing stations and competitions in previous years. iRacing’s community base in the UK is large enough to justify that kind of presence here. Sim Global Expo is therefore exactly the kind of show that could attract that involvement. Worth watching the organizers’ announcements as January approaches.
