Smarter Spotter: Fuel & Time Trial Awareness
The iRacing spotter has been given new lines to improve strategy calls and Time Trial clarity. These updates are live with the 2025 Season 4 build, and they make the voice in your ear a little more useful than before.
New Fuel Strategy Messages
During races, you’ll now hear more contextual calls about fuel strategy. These are designed to help you know if you can make it to the finish or not:
- “Pitting now for fuel will get us to the end of the race.”
- Variants for fuel data collection, including:
- “We need more laps for fuel data.”
- “We’ve got good fuel data.”
- “You have enough fuel to finish the race.”
- “Remember, you need to pit for more fuel.”
These calls make it easier to track your pit window without staring at black boxes or HUD widgets, especially in the heat of traffic.
New Time Trial Spotter Messages
The spotter now also keeps track of your Time Trial attempts, with dedicated voice lines that trigger automatically:
- “You need to complete X laps for this Time Trial.”
- “You had an incident. Your lap count has been reset.”
- “You’ve completed the laps needed for this Time Trial.”
These reduce guesswork and help make Time Trials more approachable, especially for newcomers.
Localization Updates: Italian, Spanish, Portuguese
On top of new lines, three existing spotter packs were refreshed in Season 4:
- Italian spotter pack updated.
- Spanish spotter pack updated.
- Portuguese spotter pack updated.
These updates modernize phrases, fix inconsistencies, and align with the latest spotter message set so drivers in these languages get the same strategic awareness.

Spotters are more than just “clear inside/outside” — they can be your strategist, your Time Trial guide, and your reassurance when pushing to the limit. These updates continue iRacing’s push to make the spotter a real assistant, not just a traffic cop.
