Peachtree Pursuit Week 1 is in the books. One hundred college students raced at EchoPark Speedway in Atlanta on Wednesday, September 23, competing across two group races for their chance to advance in the 2026-27 eNASCAR College iRacing Series tournament. Connor Yeroschak of the University of Calgary won Group 2, and Connor Trifari of UNC Charlotte claimed Group 1. When the races ended, 40 drivers from 34 schools had punched their tickets to the Final Round.

Peachtree Pursuit Week 1 Group 1: Trifari Upsets No. 1 Seed Ault
The Group 1 race at EchoPark put the spotlight squarely on Dylan Ault of Cal State Sacramento. Ault entered Week 1 as the top overall seed after posting the fastest time attack lap among more than 270 qualifiers, and he carried all the momentum heading into the group format. But it was UNC Charlotteโs Connor Trifari who controlled the race when it counted, taking the Group 1 win and earning 10 Series points in the process.
Trifariโs victory was part of a dominant evening for UNC Charlotte as a program. The 49ers entered 14 drivers in Week 1 and sent six of them to the Final Round, more than any other school in the event. If those drivers perform in the championship, UNC Charlotte will be a legitimate School Championship contender.
Among the programs eliminated from Group 1: Alabama, Clemson, Texas at Austin, and Texas Tech all saw their drivers fall short of the advancement cutoff. Ault did advance to the Final Round despite the race loss, carrying his Week 1 points into the September 30 showdown.

Group 2: Defending Champion Yeroschak Claims the Win
In Group 2, the result felt like a statement. Connor Yeroschak of the University of Calgary won the eNASCAR College iRacing Series championship last season, and he returned to EchoPark on Wednesday looking to prove that title was no accident. Yeroschak took the Group 2 victory ahead of Abraham Vela of the University of Houston, earning 10 Series points and advancing to the Final Round as the top finisher from his group.
Michiganโs Joonsuh Lim also advanced from Group 2, giving the Wolverines a presence in the Final Round. Lim steps into a role previously held by Matthew Zwack, who represented Michigan in past seasons of the College iRacing Series. The programโs continued presence in the Final Round speaks to the depth Michigan has developed in sim racing at the collegiate level.
Oklahoma and Georgia were among the schools eliminated in Group 2 action, with neither program able to hold off the competition at EchoPark.
Peachtree Pursuit Week 1 Results: 40 Drivers Advance to the Final Round
Between Group 1 and Group 2, 40 drivers secured their spots in the Peachtree Pursuit Final Round, representing 34 schools. Ten of those schools remain in contention for the School Championship, the program-based competition that runs alongside the individual tournament.
Bowling Green State University sent five students into Week 1 and advances two to the Final Round. Several other programs also earned multiple representatives, setting up intra-school competition that could influence both the individual and team standings on September 30.
