Registration runs through the PlayVS College League at pcl.gg. After completing the form, your account links to your institution and all tournament events appear in iRacing under Go Racing > Time Attack Competitions. You don’t need to sign up for individual rounds separately after that. The Time Attack qualification window for each tournament runs six days, Tuesday through Sunday, before race weekend.
With $60,000 in scholarships on the line and tournament fields expanded to 100 entries, the 2026-27 season is the largest the College Series has run. The series has also become a real career pathway for sim racers, with alumni now competing in the professional eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series. Eligibility requires current enrollment at a college or university and an active iRacing membership. There is no minimum license class to register, though stronger qualifying laps in Time Attack improve your odds of making the race grid.
The series grows from six to eight tournaments this season, adding Echo Park in Atlanta and Dover to the calendar. Those two new stops space the schedule more evenly across both semesters and give students additional chances to score points. A School Championship also launches this year, so your individual results roll into institution-level standings alongside the personal competition.
IMSA also joins as a series partner for the first time. Two tournaments, the Big Apple Battle at Watkins Glen and Ocean’s Roar at Daytona Road Course, replace the usual NASCAR Trucks with the Ford Mustang GT4. Both rounds run with IMSA-branded team liveries. Because road courses reward a different skill set than ovals and superspeedways, students who perform better on technical circuits have two natural spots to target for points.
The points structure has shifted as well. A tournament win now earns 55 points, which puts more weight on first-place finishes than on consistent midfield results. If you’re chasing the overall standings, a strong Time Attack lap in the Watkins Glen or Daytona Road Course windows can make a real difference.
The format itself is worth understanding before you sign up. During each six-day Time Attack window, you run as many laps as you want to set your fastest qualifying time. That time determines your starting position in the race weekend that follows. After the races, points accumulate based on finish position, and standings carry forward into the next tournament. Because you can run Time Attack as many times as you like within the window, preparation matters more than raw pace on race day.
The eight tournaments split across fall and spring semesters:
- September 23: Peachtree Pursuit, Echo Park (Atlanta), Trucks
- October 7: Queen City Crown, Charlotte, Trucks
- October 28: Big Apple Battle, Watkins Glen, Ford Mustang GT4
- November 11: Great Lakes Gauntlet, Michigan, Trucks
Spring 2027:
- January 27: Monster Mash, Dover, Trucks
- February 10: Clash on the Beach, Daytona oval, Trucks
- February 24: Ocean’s Roar, Daytona Road Course, Ford Mustang GT4
- March 24: Sunset Splash, Homestead-Miami, Trucks
The championship concludes at the Sunset Splash on March 31 at Homestead-Miami.
