The 2026 Season 1 Build is officially here to kick off the new competition year. This massive update introduces brand-new cars, world-class tracks, and deep technical overhauls. Specifically, this release focuses on user interface customization and physics realism. You can read the official announcement on the iRacing website.
New Content in the 2026 Season 1 Build
The simulation expands its roster with two unique vehicles and two major street circuits.
- Porsche 911 Cup (992.2): This evolution features improved aerodynamics and 520 horsepower. It also supports rain racing and comes with built-in AI support.
- FIA Cross Car: All members receive this 120-horsepower dirt buggy for free. It is an ideal entry point for the Dirt Road ladder.
- Adelaide Street Circuit: Australiaโs premier street track is now available with 14 turns. It features the iconic Senna Chicane.
- Miami International Autodrome: Race around Hard Rock Stadium with five distinct configurations.

Major UI Features in the 2026 Season 1 Build
This update introduces the most significant interface changes in years. The new framework allows for a much more personalized experience.
- Widget Editor (Alt-K): You can now customize the size, position, and transparency of your HUD.
- Standalone Widgets: View your Relative, Standings, Lap Timing, and Weather in independent boxes. These elements are read-only but update in real-time.
- Options Search: Quickly find any setting by typing in the new search bar. This eliminates the need to hunt through multiple tabs.
- Performance Meters: These options have moved from the Interface menu into the individual Widget Options.

Physics and Oval Refresh Phase 2
The 2026 Season 1 Build continues to push the limits of tire and track interaction.
- Dynamic Track Surfaces: Updated rubber tearing and thermal flow improve multi-groove racing. It reduces the “one-line” dominant behavior on ovals.
- NASCAR Truck Aero: Skewed body shapes now provide much more accurate handling. This improves side-by-side racing fidelity.
- IndyCar Hybrids: The Dallara IR18 now features a full capacitor-based energy recovery system. Drivers must now manage energy deployment manually.
- Toyota GR86 Overhaul: This car received a bumper-to-bumper physics update based on new real-world data. The center of gravity was lowered to reduce “bicycling” on curbs.
Deep Technical Simulation Updates
Engineers have optimized the core code to improve racing quality across all disciplines.
- Netcode Elevation Fix: Opponent vehicles will no longer “float” or “bury” on steep hills. This improves visual accuracy for drivers with high latency.
- Track Initialization: Dust and water distribution is now more accurate at the start of a session. This prevents “growing puddles” during rainy sessions.
- Detached Parts: Damping rates for car debris have been improved to stop parts from “jittering” unrealistically.
- Course Cut Detection: The algorithm for black flags was tightened to reduce false penalties.
Advanced AI Driver Behavior
AI Drivers have attended the “AI School for the Gifted” to learn complex racing maneuvers.
- Independent Paths: AI now takes unique paths rather than sticking to a single pace line.
- New Training: AI can now manage Hybrid systems and perform better crash assessments.
- Expanded Roster: AI drivers are ready for Adelaide, Miami, and the new Rockingham Oval.
- New Paint Schemes: The AI opponent database has been rebuilt with more realistic paint sets for NASCAR and Supercars.
Global Localization and Sporting Code
iRacing is expanding its reach with new language support and stricter racing rules.
- New Languages: The iRacing application now supports French, German, Italian, and Portuguese.
- MPR Enforcement: The Sporting Code now strictly enforces the 50% lap completion rule for MPR. A race only counts if you finish at least half the distance of the class winner.
- Paint Kit Sponsors: New sponsors like Dude Wipes, Sparco, and GFX Wheels are now available.
This 2026 Season 1 Build represents one of the most ambitious updates in the history of the simulation. With the addition of iconic street circuits like Adelaide and Miami, alongside the technical evolution of the Porsche 911 Cup (992.2), there has never been a better time to jump into the cockpit. Whether you are mastering the new iRacing Sim UI or searching for the multi-groove line in the updated ovals, these changes set a high bar for the year ahead. We will see you on the starting grid when the season officially kicks off on December 16th.
