The series runs across six rounds and uses the Formula iR-04, iRacing’s FIA F4-spec open-wheel car. Entry works through a hot-lap qualifier format. Each round is a Time Attack session, and the top 20 finishers earn championship points. Points accumulate across all six rounds of the season.
The prize structure covers multiple tiers, including cash, equipment, and coaching packages. The headline prize is a fully funded 2027 Skip Barber Formula Race Series seat. It gives the top sim performer a direct path from iRacing into a professional real-world open-wheel program. It is one of the more meaningful sim-to-real pathways available in motorsport right now.
Skip Barber ran a version of this competition in 2025. The 2026 edition marks its return with an updated prize pool. For iRacers who compete seriously in open-wheel content or have real-world racing ambitions, this series is worth paying attention to.
To enter you need an active iRacing membership and access to the Formula iR-04. Full eligibility rules and registration details are available on the official iRacing website. The first Time Attack sessions of the 2026 season are coming up in the weeks ahead.
