Road America: iRacing Track Rebuilds Add Turn 5 Bypass Configurations
Road America gets a full rebuild using new 2026 laser scans. The 4.048-mile circuit in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, hosts GT3, prototype, IndyCar, and NASCAR road competition. It is one of the most-raced tracks in iRacing’s road license series. The Road America rebuild retires the current version. Owners get the updated track automatically at no extra cost.
iRacing is also adding two new configurations using the Turn 5 bypass road: an East and a West layout. The bypass cuts through the infield at Turn 5, creating a shorter version of the circuit. As a result, both layouts produce meaningfully different racing from the full course. Road America has historically used this bypass in real-world events for lower-speed or motorcycle competition. On iRacing, the two new configurations give series operators a shorter circuit at a track with otherwise limited flexibility. For endurance leagues running multi-day formats, the different layouts offer genuine variety without changing venue.
Mid-Ohio: Rebuilt With Terrain Intact
iRacing rebuilt Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course from scans captured in 2026. The track’s defining characteristic is its variable terrain. It rises and falls through a series of blind crests and compressions that catch drivers off-guard. However, the new build preserves that terrain fidelity. The technical, sweeping layout that makes Mid-Ohio challenging in both sports car and open-wheel racing carries over unchanged.
Like Road America, existing owners get the Mid-Ohio rebuild automatically. The older version retires with the Season 4 build. Mid-Ohio hosts IMSA, IndyCar, and various official iRacing series events. Because of that, the updated track will be in active use from day one of the new season.
Milwaukee Mile: Rebuilt and Getting a New Road Circuit
Milwaukee Mile is a flat, one-mile oval with nine-degree banking. The rebuild uses new 2026 scan data. It delivers updated surface geometry, track edge definition, and improved visual quality across the facility. The notable addition, however, is a new road circuit configuration. The new layout is roval-style, using the oval banking combined with an infield road section.
Road circuits at oval facilities are a format iRacing has developed elsewhere. At Milwaukee, the banked oval and flat infield will create a layout unlike anything on the current iRacing road calendar. Furthermore, there is no direct real-world counterpart to compare it to. That makes it a genuinely new racing surface in the sim when Season 4 drops.
Summit Point and Road Atlanta: Refreshes, Not iRacing Track Rebuilds
Two additional tracks receive art updates in Season 4. However, these are not full iRacing track rebuilds like the three above. Summit Point Raceway gets a complete graphics overhaul with every model and texture rebuilt. iRacing also upgrades the Jefferson Circuit at Summit Point as part of this refresh. Summit Point is a regular host for sports car racing in the northeast United States. It runs iRacing series events in the D and C license ranges. Both the main circuit and the Jefferson layout get updated visuals in Season 4.
Meanwhile, Road Atlanta receives an art update timed around Petit Le Mans coverage. The update includes new track surface textures, 3D curbs, updated foliage, and upgraded scenery. Road Atlanta is one of the more demanding circuits on the iRacing road schedule. The uphill esses in sector one and the flat-out plunge through Turns 10a and 10b require serious commitment. In the real world, Road Atlanta hosts the Michelin GT Challenge in September and Petit Le Mans in October. Therefore, the visual update gives one of the most active venues on the schedule a fresher look.
What Owners Need to Know
For all three iRacing track rebuilds, existing owners get the new versions at no extra cost. They arrive automatically with the Season 4 launch. The previous versions of Road America, Mid-Ohio, and Milwaukee Mile retire with the build. Any custom setups, paint schemes, or league-specific configurations tied to the old versions will need a compatibility check. Because the rebuilds update the surface geometry, setup values tuned to the old tracks may need adjustment. The new versions will be available for pre-season testing before the official schedule begins.
For members who don’t yet own these tracks, the Season 4 launch is a good time to add all three. Road America, Mid-Ohio, and Milwaukee each host official iRacing series events across road and oval license structures. In addition, the accurate scan data and updated visuals make each a better racing environment. Each replaces an older version that has been in the library for years.
