Vicente Salas returned to the eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series winner’s circle at Richmond Raceway in Race 8 of the 2026 season, leading 69 of 72 laps to hold off Quentin Warman by 0.260 seconds. The win secured Salas a playoff position and echoed his first career win at the same track in the 2021 season opener.

Race 8 ran under the Short Track Heat Racing format, which splits the field into two heat races before the 72-lap main event. Salas dominated Heat 1, leading wire to wire ahead of Ryan Luza and Dylan Duval. Heat 2 went to Quentin Warman over Parker White, though Michael Cosey Jr. drew an early drive-through penalty for jumping the start.
The main event ran through five cautions. Salas took the lead immediately and dictated the pace throughout. The biggest disruption came on Lap 4 when contact between Bobby Zalenski, Garrett Lowe, Jake Nichols, and Garrett Manes collected Zalenski and forced a caution that shuffled the field’s early rhythm.
Mid-race pit sequencing played out in Salas’s favor. Blake Reynolds and Nate Stewart gambled on fuel to stay on track, but both lost ground on the final restart when tires went against them. Casey Kirwan and Wyatt Tinsley each picked up penalties for restart violations, dropping them out of contention in the final runs.
Salas sealed the win in eNASCAR Overtime after the fifth caution, holding Warman at bay through the final restart. Steven Wilson finished third, 0.401 seconds back. Salas’s quote from the official iRacing recap: “We just had to be dialed those last restarts. I’m glad that we came out of it with the victory.”
Six drivers are now locked into the playoffs following Richmond: Bobby Zalenski, Steven Wilson, Vicente Salas, Parker White, Garrett Lowe, and Tucker Minter. Zalenski leads the overall points standings with 176 points, followed by Wilson at 255 and Salas at 225.
Four playoff spots remain open with twenty drivers still mathematically eligible. The current holders of positions 7 through 10 are Connor Yeroschak, Shawn Conklin, Wyatt Tinsley, and Casey Kirwan. None of those four have won this season, which means Daytona becomes a critical win-and-in opportunity for anyone chasing an automatic berth.
The series heads to Daytona International Speedway on August 18 for Race 9. Daytona historically compresses the field and gives mid-tier drivers an opening to steal a win that a road course or short track would not. With four playoff berths still available, every driver inside the top 20 on points has a reason to race for the win rather than manage a safe finish.
For the six locked-in playoff drivers, Richmond was a chance to build points cushion heading into the final stretch. Salas now enters the back half of the regular season with a win banked and a cleaner path to the championship round.
